Live event will include gala dinner
The annual Jefferson Rotary Charity Auction will be the best of both worlds, an in-person evening of dinner, fun and the auction on Saturday, Nov. 19 at the Greene Room of the Wild Rose Casino along with an online auction, all for worthwhile projects.
“We are excited to return to the fun of an in-person dinner and a live auction, and we’ve found a great user-friendly way to have a fun auction and raise money for community projects by continuing the online bidding option to a wider audience,” said Jon Law, Rotary past president and auction chair. “People will find our online format easy to use, and we’re excited by the great items we’ve lined up for the auction,” he continued.
Tickets for individuals, couples or even a whole table are now available for the prime rib dinner that also includes complimentary wine, appetizers, lava cake plus a dessert auction will be part of the fun. Tickets may be purchased at www.32auctions.com/JeffersonRotary
From Saturday, Nov.13 to Friday, Nov. 19, bidders can go online to join in the fun of the bidding on silent auction packages and items such as tickets to unique events that bidders won’t find just anywhere. Whitaker Auctions will again provide fun, fast-paced professional auctioneering.
The auction is posted at www.32auctions.com/JeffersonRotary. Items are being added daily.
Some of the early items to be secured for the auction include tickets to a concert by the one and only Elton John; “Hamilton” tickets in the 4th row of the Des Moines Civic Center; tickets to the James Taylor-Jackson Brown concert, and dinner for eight with Jefferson’s newest chef.
“The Price is Right Stage Show” based on the popular game show will be a feature with tickets plus gift cards. Four tickets to the Dinosaur World Live interactive family show will be a hit with the kiddos. And there will be more! Keep checking the auction website. www.32auctions.com/JeffersonRotary
For those who prefer a mini-vacation, there are play-and-stay packages from the Wild Rose properties in Jefferson, Emmetsburg and Clinton.
As in recent years, Hamilton Redi-Mix has donated a truckload of concrete – 10 cubic yards – with an offer to match the high bidder up to $1,500 with a cash donation to the Rotary Club.
For sports fans, the auction offers autographed footballs from the Green Bay Packers and the Minnesota Vikings. Stay tuned for more sports items to come.
The auction will also include home improvement items, home décor, gift baskets, tickets to many sporting events and much more!
In its 22 years, the Rotary Charity Auction has raised more than $600,000 for worthwhile causes in Greene County and, through the Rotary International Foundation, across the globe.
This year the Jefferson Rotary Club is focusing on major projects to mark its centennial, May 1, 2022. The first recipient of Centennial Major Project funds will be the dog park adjacent to the new Greene County Animal Shelter.
